Disciple Bible Study
We’re offering the first course in the Disciple Bible Study series, on Sundays, 6-8pm (beginning Sept. 12, 2010).
Anyone is invited to take the class.
What is Disciple?
· begins by assuming that the group knows nothing about the Bible
· go through almost the entire Bible in a year
· gain an overview of its major themes
· learn how to read and interpret scripture
· consider how to apply Biblical teaching to our lives
· grow in our ability to hear and understand God’s will
· take the journey with a group of friends
· a group with whom to laugh, cry and pray
· learn to talk more easily about our faith (and our doubt)
How does it work?
· 34 weeks (with appropriate time out at holidays)
· a two-hour class each week
· class day and time set by the group who wants to take it
· about a half hour of reading and study each day
· an great video segment by a different Bible scholar each week
· sharing insights from the past week’s study
· learning Bible study methods
· class limited to twelve people
· $50 per person for materials (scholarships available)
