Our Prayers ... Our Presence ...
Our Gifts ... Our Service
At Valley View, stewardship means more than just money. Our life in and for the church is all about caring for all of the gifts God has entrusted to us.
Our focus for May 2010 is our music ministry.
What would our worship be like with no music? How many Evening Care guests would miss their Tone Chime Choir? How would VBS sound with no music? The list could go on and on. Your giving to the General Operating Mission and Ministry Fund of the church helps us provide the notes and sounds of praise on Sunday mornings and beyond. If our music makes your heart sing, please put your donation in a Musical Above and Beyond giving envelope on Sunday morning or send it to the church plainly marked “Above and Beyond Giving”.
Our creed begins, "As we believe, so let us live and give." To live the life of caring servants, we have to put our faith into action -- by praying, by worshiping together, by giving back from our resources and by using our talents to serve others.
Throughout the year, you'll see stewardship in action in a variety of ways:
-
-Members of the congregation share their personal stewardship stories during services.
-We conduct pledge campaigns to support the operations, ministries and programs of the church, as well as our building and its maintenance. -
-We offer information and education on estate planning, personal financial management and a variety of related topics.
-
-We present special opportunities to support special needs.
- -Special volunteer and service opportunities are everywhere -- recycling, recreation, community outreach, children and youth programs, adult education, fellowship -- and so much more!
Have You Ever Wondered About Tithing? Many of us are understandably confused about this bibilical principle of giving back our "first fruits" to God. What does 10% really mean, anyway? Here's one perspective that may help...(click here).
